Irimi 入身
Your aikido appinspired by Tamura Shihan
A mobile app for aikidoka who practice in the line of Tamura Nobuyoshi Shihan: his life, his voice, the words of the mat, and a record of your own path.
Irimi is an aikido app inspired by Tamura Shihan. It is not only about him, and it is not part of this website. It is for aikidoka, especially in Aikikai and Tamura-lineage dojos, and for anyone curious about his teaching.

Inside the app
Biography
His life in six short chapters, from Osaka to his dojo at Bras and his legacy.
Audio
An audio miniseries and readings, in preparation. See also the Podcast page of this site.
Concepts
Japanese terms of aikido, each with its kanji, its reading and a plain definition. Then come Tamura’s own words from his book Aïkido (1986), with page references. The definitions are plain explanations, not his words.
The sections: the ten Foundations, Katame Waza, Nage Waza, Forms of Practice, Attacks, Weapons, Movement and Etiquette Vocabulary. On the Home screen, a Word of the day comes from the ten Foundations.
“The law of irimi is the root of aikido.”
Profile
Your Aikikai and Yudansha identification: organization, dojo and chief instructor. Your Dan record. The seminars and courses you attended.
Planned: adding a course from a photo of a page of your Yudansha Book.
